Bangkok Airways kicks off four new routes from Chiang Mai

Bangkok Airways has recently launched its four new routes from Chiang Mai to four key cities ahead of the formation of ASEAN Economic Communities, which will start in 2015.
Inaugural flights from the northern province of Chiang Mai to the four destinations, which include Phuket, Udon Thani, and Mandalay as well as Yangon in Myanmar commenced on October 26.
According to the carrier website, as Chiang Mai is considered one of the most famous tourist destinations in Thailand, attracting a large number of both Thai and foreign tourists, the company hopes that the four new routes will enhance its ability to support the growing demand for air travel when the AEC takes place in 2015.
At present, Bangkok Airways operates 2 daily direct flights between Chiang Mai and Udon Thani and one flight from Chiang Mai to Phuket; it flies three times and four times a week from Chiangmai to Mandalay and Yangon, respectively.
