Bangkok Airways is expected to return to the skies from 15 May.

There will be two flights a day from the capital to and from Koh Samui.

Last year, the airline announced that Samui flights are the most profitable of its services.

The operator states that, during check-in, pre-boarding, during flight and disembarkation, flights must strictly comply with the safety guidelines of the CAAT.

They also announced the re-opening of Sukhothai and Trat airports and said that further Bangkok Airways routes would be reopened later.

Health and safety steps shall include:

  • Seat gap for passengers
  • Suspension of in-flight food and beverage facilities
  • Prohibition of the transportation of personal food or drink
  • Team members shall wear helmets and gloves
  • Passengers shall be required to wear protective helmets at all times.

Koh Samui Airport is scheduled to be reopened for regular operations from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The airport says that it has placed in place security measures to “ensure the highest degree of protection for both passengers and employees.”

Passenger and workers will be checked at the airport, body temperature checks, a necessity for staff to wear face masks at all times and social distances.
