Bangkok is blooming: Flora Festival takes over several public parks until July

Sunflowers are blossoming in Bangkok. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is organising the Bangkok Flora Festival where flowers will be planted in various parks in the capital from now until July. The first garden is a sunflower field at the Vachitabenjatas Park or Suan Rot Fai Park near the Chatuchak Weekend Market.
Over 1.5 acres of Suan Rot Fai Park is filled with 30,000 sunflowers, and the species selected to show here don’t have pollen which means anyone who has a pollen allergy can feel free to enjoy the field. The sunflowers at the Sun Rot Fai Park will be in bloom until the end of January.
The other three parks to join Bangkok Flora Festival in the following months are the cleome garden at Wanapirom Romklao Park in March, the colourful cosmos garden at Pom Mahakan Public Park in April, and verbena garden at Chatuchak Park in July. The organisers planned the types of flowers with the weather for each month. Altogether, around 160,000 flowers will blossom in Bangkok.
