Bangkok man shoots himself dead after loaning money to wife for failed restaurant

Police were called to a house in Lat Prao Soi 90 yesterday after a man apparently shot himself in the head in the dining room.
A suicide note was found on the table citing family and financial problems.
On the floor in a pool of blood was a 62 year old man named by Daily News as “Saen” (an assumed name). He had been shot through the left side of the head exiting through the right.
The corpse was lying by a dining table and on top of a .380 Smith and Wesson gun that had been fired once.
Neighbors said that Saen was a likable guy who was quite wealthy from stock trading.
He had lived at the house with his wife and children but three years ago he lent his wife millions of baht to open a restaurant that failed, they said.
This caused the couple to have an acrimonious divorce.
Wang Thong Lang police and foundation medics sent the body for autopsy.
