Bangladeshi man accused of theft of Bt12.65 million worth of foreign currencies

A Bangladeshi man has been arrested at the Suvarnabhumi Airport on Monday with Bt12.65 million worth of foreign currencies in his luggage that he allegedly stole from a foreign businessman.
Immigration police said Anowar Hossain, 32, was arrested Monday morning as he was about to board a plane.
Police found the foreign banknotes wrapped in newspaper pages hidden in his bag. The banknotes included 42 500-euro notes, 12 200-euro notes, five 100-euro notes 262 100-US dollar notes, 1,000 500-SAR notes and 1,000 1,000-AED notes.
A foreign businessman reported to Buppharam police at 7pm on Sunday that his foreign currencies, worth a total of Bt12.65 million, had been stolen.
The suspect denied the theft charge.
He was handed over to the Buppharam police for further interrogation.
