Bar Solo Samui manager dead in murder suicide

On Wednesday night in Chaweng the manager of the popular bar Bar Solo reportedly shot his friend dead before turning the gun on himself in a shocking murder suicide.
At around 1-30am Bophut police officers arrived at Bar Solo to find the dead body of Chulit Somakert lying on the floor. His alleged killer, Samroeng Thongpan fled to his room inside the club, turning the gun on himself after a five hour standoff. Reports suggest Samroeng shot at the police officers before barricading himself into the room where he died. Prior to his death police had cordoned off the area and attempted to persuade Mr Samroeng to surrender visa mobile phone and megaphone. At around 6am police gained access to his room and found him dead on his bed with a gun shot wound to his head.
Witnesses told police the two men were friends but fell out over a million baht join venture scheme, Mr Samroeng they said owed Mr Chulit money.
There were customers in the bar when Mr Samroeng opened fire on his friend letting off serveral rounds, no injuries were reported although customers had to run for cover. The Samui community has been left shocked by the incident and the deaths.
