There are many great places to get a cold drink, sit back and relax and soak up the atmosphere in Koh Samui, one of those spots is the Big Buddha Coffee Shop at the Big Buddha Temple. What makes this spot so great is the location. In the Big Buddha Temple area there are no main roads with their associated noise and dust and this area is packed full of shops selling everything from OTOP (One Tambon One Province) goods to gifts and beautiful clothing. Once you have enjoyed the unique shopping opportunities and a visit to the Buddha shrine itself and taken in the amazing views (please dress respectfully) then the Big Buddha Coffee shop is a great place to chill out and enjoy a wide range of beverages.
The wide range of amazing ice cream milk shakes are made with local fresh fruit such as Lime, coconut, banana and mango, or if you prefer something a bit less fruity then try the vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, mocha or butterscotch. If you are watching your waistline and don’t want to indulge on the delicious ice cream version then ask for a fruit shake make with ice, syrup, mango, pineapple, watermelon, banana and apple, or any combination you choose.
If you like coffee then why not mix the two and have a refreshing, energizing drink made from ground coffee beans and ice cream such as the classic coffee shake, chocolate coffee shake, mocha coffee shake or even a strawberry coffee shake. If you like your coffee stirred but not shaken then you can enjoy a hot or cold traditional cappuccino or latte or one with vanilla, caramel, hazelnut or butterscotch.
The sunshine shakes are a good healthy option and include the Mango Tango – Mango, banana and oranges, the Completely Nuts with Pineapple, banana, cinnamon and nutmeg the Pink Passion with Strawberry and banana, the Summer Breeze with Mango and strawberry and the Fat Burner with Apples, Berries and Pineapple.
If you are in a healthy mood then why not try the Morning Detox Booster with Apple, cucumber and carrots that will encourage healthy skin and eyes, or the amazing Beet Me Up Scotty with Beetroot, carrots and celery that will stimulate the livers detoxification process and equalize your body’s PH and if you really want a vitamin hit then go for the Fill Me Up With The Lot a heady combination of carrots, oranges, beetroot, apples, cucumber, ginger, lemon, spinach and basil. And, when we say that the ingredients are fresh, we really are not kidding as plenty of them such as basil, spinach and celery can be seen growing on site and are freshly picked for your drinks.
The Big Buddha Coffee shop has some nice indoor seating under some cooling fans when it’s hot, a comfortable sofa overlooking Bangrak Bay, a small terrace at the back where you can take in the view and a larger terrace at the front where you can indulge in a spot of people watching.
Friendly is the name of the game here but if you do not have time to enjoy the warm hospitality and easy chat then all of the drinks mentioned, as well as many more, are available to take away.
