Bloodbath in Surat Thani: Estranged husband shoots former mother in law dead, ex wife serious

A Thai husband went to his estranged wife’s house to sort out personal matters.
But after an argument broke out he produced a .380 gun and shot his ex wife and her mother a total of six times.
Grandmother Phin Chunark, 82, died on the way to Wiang Sa hospital after being shot in the back and hip.
Janphen Chunark, 45, is in a serious condition in hospital after being shot in the chest, leg and hand.
Police who rushed to the one story house in Ban Song village of Wiang Sa, Surat Thani found a lot of spilled blood in front of the house where the two women lived. They also found six shell casings.
They were told that the shooter was Chamnan Cheua-jao, 53.
The couple had split up years ago but had a 15 year old son together.
Chamnan tolerated the fact that his estranged wife had a new man in her life but he refused to allow her to have the man move into the house where his son lived.
As they discussed the matter on Monday morning tempers flared and he pulled out a gun and shot his ex wife and her mother.
He was found at his house nearby by police who charged him with murder, attempted murder and weapons offences.
