Body of the man who jumped from the Seatran Ferry found

The body of 20 year old Yoo Diriratchanon, a mentally ill man who jumped off the seatran ferry from Koh Samui to Don sak has been found according to the district police investigator. The remains of the man got caught in a fishing net that belongs to a trawler named Jit Roongroj 4 about 4.5 kilometers off the cost of Don Sak. The discovery was made at 3am on Sunday morning according to Pol Capt Thepsingha Thepluen.
Yoo was on board the ferry with his mother Kanokwan Jittalarn and other family members on Saturday afternoon who were taking him to meet a doctor at the Suansaranrom Psychiatric Hospital in Surat Thani when he bolted from the passenger area and hurled himself into the ocean about seven kilometers from Don Sak. Passengers and crew threw life vests into the water before he went under. Rescue workers were dispatched but the strong waves in the Gulf of Thailand prevented the rescue operation from being successful.
Mrs Kanokwan told reporters that her son had been experiencing mental problems and had already made an attempt on his life by drinking toilet cleaner but was saved at the hospital. He had been suffering from depression and his family had hoped the trip to Surat Thani would provide the treatment that he needed to help his situation.
