Police in Bangkok have arrested a British man on suspicion of being a drug mule after finding 500g of cocaine on British man accused of drug smuggling in Thailandhim. Michael Kevin O’Neil, 40, was arrested on Saturday night. It is believed the man is the boss of the Thai Gardens Restaurant in Bali and spent ten years in Thailand. Mr O’Neil told investigators that he flew to Thailand as his restaurant had closed for renovations. The police believe the man to be part of an illegal drug trafficking gang who swallow drugs to transport them. According to news reports Mr O’Neil was found with the drugs in his backpack on a public bus. Pol Lt Col Jirakrit Juranphat claims that Mr O’Neil was paid 60,000 baht to deliver the drugs to another man. The Foreign Office said they were aware of the situation.
