Briton captures iPhone 10 thief on Samui

A Briton, 66, managed to overpower a young Thai man and put him in a headlock after the Thai allegedly stole an iPhone X from the Briton’s girlfriend on Koh Samui on Tuesday.
Pol Captain Boonnam Srinarat, deputy inspector of Borphut police station, said Sutthipong Chumket, 25, was captured by the Briton, who wanted to be identified only as John.
Sutthipong was found about 100 metres from a traditional massage parlour where he allegedly stole the smartphone from John’s girlfriend, Pimphan Sathong, 29.
Pimphan said she was waiting for John at the massage parlour when Sutthipong came in to inquire about the service. She replied she was not a masseuse and she went inside the shop to call a masseuse for him.
The man later said he would leave for food and come back later. Five minutes later, Pimphan realised her iPhone X had been taken from the desk, so she alerted her boyfriend.
John then rode his motorcycle to look for the suspect and found him about 100 metres away.
John was cut with a knife on one of his hands while trying to capture the suspect. The Briton told police he would waive the physical assault charge out of sympathy for the suspect.
