Carnage at a temple in Hat Yai: 33 abandoned cats killed by dogs

The hunt is on for a person who dumped 36 cats at a temple in Hat Yai in the middle of the night.
The felines – transported in cardboard boxes – were then at the mercy of the dogs at the temple of Wat Thung Ngai in Thung Yai district.
Only three survived the slaughter.
Local lady Chai Panchalerm, 49, said she saw what had happened when she went to the temple about 7am.
CCTV footage showed a Nissan pick-up with a load on the back arrive at the temple at 2am and stay for about 15 minutes.
The locals believe the cruel person who abandoned the cats probably couldn’t look after them any more.
They are consulting with the phu yai baan (local village chief) and police to try and track down the person who left the cats there.
They want to lay animal cruelty charges against the person.
