Just two weeks ago a coffee shop as you have never seen before flung open its doors and blew the residents of Koh Samui away with its truly unique décor, coffee, gelato, all day dining, passionate chefs, experienced staff and a two million baht coffee roasting machine that can be seen roasting the best organic beans Thailand has to offer. This exciting venture has brought Samui its first public coffee roaster and public gelato factory where customers are invited to explore how the venue roasts coffee and produces gelato!
Casa Italia, located on the ring road not far from Big C, is a modern day interpretation of the traditional Italian bar where you can relax and enjoy your food, wine, coffee and gelato with a smile. The modern design of the café’s interior has been pleasingly created from a good proportion of eco-friendly materials, with a flair for style and the ‘modern’ with all of the comfort and convenience any discerning customer would require in today’s competitive market. Outdoors is equally pleasing with ample off road parking, an outdoor covered terrace were you can enjoy the sun, the shade and a cigarette or cigar. The air conditioned interior offers soothing relief from the tropical sun and a unique opportunity to watch coffee beans being roasted.
Casa Italia originated from a gelato parlour established in Singapore, then named Gelaterai Italia. With its use of the finest quality ingredients and time honoured traditional techniques the store was unsurprisingly an instant hit. Over the next three years the gelato became the largest and most popular gelato parlour in Singapore and its product range expanded to Italian specialty coffee and comfort food. 2014 saw the opening of the first casual all day dining restaurant and today around 20 stores have opened with more international locations to come and of course the store in Samui that is already a big hit with its already returning customers.
Nowhere is the love and passion behind this branch more apparent than in the Bophut Branch. The second you walk through the door you find yourself overwhelmed by ambiance with the smell of fresh roasted coffee, the visual feast of over a two dozen trays of beautifully presented gelato that has been made in-store from high quality fresh ingredients. Here the Casa Italia team are handpicked for excellence and are on hand to give you a welcoming smile, a sample of any one of the fantastic range of gelato, advice on the all-day menu and which wines, coffees or beer will best compliment your choice. This fantastic 7am – 11pm dining opportunity is also surprisingly affordable.
The menu offers a fine range of imported cold cut and cheese platters, ideal for romantic couples or groups sharing, salads and pastas and a fantastic breakfast menu. The seating is casual and comfortable and there is enough atmosphere to soak up for a visit of several hours!
As well as delighting customers with their eat in or take away homemade gelato and in store roasted coffee beans the Casa Italia are able to offer their products wholesale to hotels, guesthouses and restaurants around the island so there is no reason we cannot all share the love.Facebook.
