Cases of dengue fever quadruple in one week in Thailand

According to reports in the past week the number of reported cases of dengue fever have quadrupled. The numbers have gone from 583 in 53 provinces to 2,380 in 67 provinces. The most affected area is Bangkok, according to outbreak news who report 17.34 cases per 100,000 of the population. So far no deaths have been reported. Dengue cases are expected to rise by over 16% this year according to Thailand’s public health ministry. Most new cases reported are from the 15 – 24 year old age bracket.
