Chaweng Cove Resotel employee pulls of a dramatic sea rescue on a jet ski

A caring a brave employee of the Chaweng Cove Resotel, Thanyaboon Somsong, 24 rode a jetski into four-meter high waves to rescue a Swiss tourist who decided to go swimming in the sea despite the fact the red flag had been erected to warn people to stay on shore due to bad conditions on the water.
Local people and tourists gathered on the beach on Thursday evening as word spread that a foreigner was struggling to swim to shore through the big waves and when Thanyaboon Somsong saw the commotion he battled his way out through the waves and was able to rescue Stephan Fassola, 42.
Mr Fassola said later he was confident of his swimming ability and was sure that going out for a swim would not be a problem but the big waves were too much for him and he was washed out a long way from the shore. He was a about 1 kilometer out when Thanyaboon managed to rescue him.
