Chiang Mai plans the First Chiang Mai Chinatown Thailand event

Mr. Montree said that statistics from the Ministry of Tourism and sports showed as many as 2.8 million Chinese tourists visited Thailand in 2013, a 60% increase from the previous record.
For 2014, it is expected that more than 3.3 million Chinese visitors will have descended in the country, he added.
Mr. Montree went on to say that the 2014 Chiang Mai Chinatown Thailand has been planned to attract more Chinese tourists to the city in order to help revive and boost domestic economy which has earlier been shaken by the months of political unrest.
He said that visitors to the 2-day event will be able to enjoy an exhibition to illustrate Thailand-China relations, various Thai-Chinese cultural performances, Thai-Chinese food shops and the Miss Chiang Mai-China 2014 Pageant.
