Chinese tourists badly slashed in Koh Samui after rape bid

Police in Koh Samui are looking for a Thai man who slashed two Chinese tourists with a knife after a rape attempt failed.
One of the women required 45 stitches for the multiple slash injuries she sustained during the attack, she was admitted to the intensive scare unit at an International Hospital, the other sustained a slash on her arm.
The police say that camera footage of the incident matches the woman’s account of the attack.
The two 26 year old women involved in the attack arrived on Samui on Sunday and that night went out to enjoy the local nightlife. Security cameras capture the women walking back to their resort at around 2am being followed by a Thai man, it is believed an attempted rape took place at the women’s apartment. The suspect escaped with 100,000 baht in cash, a telephone and an iPad, he is believed to be in his early 20’s
Update – according to a Thai news report 100,000 was not stolen, rather given to the victim by The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, it was also reported that the lady was taken to Samui International hospital where she received a large discount on her medical costs.
