Crawley man Alex Wyithe “drowns” while on holiday in Thailand

Alex Wyithe is understood to have drowned on Koh Phangan while at one of the island’s ‘full moon’ parties at the weekend.
A Facebook group called “In memory of Alex Wyithe” has been created for friends and family to share fond memories and leave tributes.
It was created by his cousin Scott Parker who wrote on the page: “He was swimming and got caught in a riptide, he was pulled from the water but was unable to be revived.
“We are all feeling devastated and shocked.”
More than 280 people have already joined the group.
Koh Phangan is well known in certain circles for its ‘full moon’ parties, which take place every month, with up to 30,000 people attending.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed that the Government is aware of a death in Thailand on March 16 and is supporting the family.
