Department of Land Transport encourages businesses to install cameras in their vehicles

The Department of Land Transport has introduced a GPS system to track public buses as well as CCTV cameras for transparency.
The department will also encourage businesses to install cameras facing the front view of their vehicles by making the purchase of such a camera tax-deductible.
Deputy Minister of Transport Aomsin Shiwapruek officiated at the opening of the GPS operations center which will oversee GPS information from all vehicles for real-time monitoring of drivers. Any anomalies in behavior or driving speed will be immediately made known to the center.
The public will be able to file complaints to the center through the mobile application “DLT GPS”
In addition, the Department of Land Transport has encouraged businesses to attach front-facing cameras to their service vehicles to monitor road behavior in a bid to reduce road accidents. Businesses will be able to claim the purchases of the cameras for tax deductions.
