Disgraced Monk set to return to Thailand | Samui Times

Disgraced and defrocked monk Wirapol Sukphol is set to return to Thailand, from his current location, the USA, on July 31 according to Vimutti Dhamma Buddhist group chairman Sukhum Wongprasitthi, who spoke out today.

Mr Sukhum said that he has been contacting Wirapol though various channels while he has been in the UK and said that he had met with six prominent lawyers who will represent Wirapol with his passport revocation and extradition case. Ironically one on them is from Hollywood!

The 34 year old monk has not spoken to the media since the video clip of him in a private luxury jet came to light on YouTube and it was thought he had fled to Paris, only to head to the USA earlier this month.

Wirapol faces an uncertain future on his return that will see him charged for fraud, sexually assaulting a minor and computer crimes.
