Drivers beware! Here come the Pokémon Go enforcers!

Fifty cops in Bangkok have been selected as Pokémon Go enforcers as the met police get tough with drivers playing the game.
Commissioner Sanit Mahathavorn said Monday was the day when the force would start getting serious with offenders – as police were pictured with yellow balloons preparing to get out there on the mean streets of the capital!
The Pokémon enforcers will be split up into special patrols to stop the augmented reality game players on ten selected “danger spot” roads in the city, reported Sanook.
Drivers will be nabbed using mobile phone video capture capabilities – and could face 1000 baht fines under regulations forbidding mobile phone use while driving.
So far officers had conducted a “softly-softly” approach but from Monday they were getting serious.
Official figures showed that in the period from 10th to 20th August 243 people were stopped for using their phones while driving – and police said most of these were playing Pokémon Go.
