Drop in complaints in Pattaya since Jet Ski dispute centers opened

Complaints about fraud and extortion have dropped considerably in Pattaya in the three months that Jet Ski dispute assistance centers have been opened according to local news reports.
One booth operator Kamolthip Woraphan said there had been an obvious drop in complaints of fraud and extortion sometimes under the threat of violence at the Pattay Beach booth. Over the New Year festive season days would go by without a single complaint he said.
The Jet Ski resolution centres were opened in Pattaya and Jomtien in late October to combat extortion scams that were giving the tourist destination a bad name. Kamolthip believes to factors have contributed to the reduced numbers of complaints Jet Ski vendors now cooperating with the authorities and abstaining from taking advantage of tourists as well as third party vendors stepping into disputes without the involvement of authorities, however he went on to say that not everybody is aware of the centers and more must be done to promote their existence.
