Economic Crime Suppression Division police arrested Chinese hackers stealing ATM information from international banks

Bangkok – November 5, the police arrested Chinese hackers that stole ATM information from many international banks before using the information to withdraw cash from ATM all around Bangkok.
This morning, the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) police arrested Jong Xiaoping, a 46 years old, and 4 Chinese men in his gang along with electronic equipments that were used to copy ATM information at a hotel in Yaowarat after Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) had informed that there was a Chinese gang in Thailand using fake ATM cards to withdraw cash in Bangkok. The information that was stolen is from banks in United States, Kuwait, Bahrain, India, Australia, Dubai and Europe.
All of the suspects confessed that they received orders from fellow Chinese men to withdraw money from ATM in Bangkok, and they would get 10 percent from the money they had withdrawn. The suspects refused to say anything about the electronic equipments they used to copy ATM information which the police will continue to investigate.
