Elections In Thailand
Thailand’s elections are a process of democracy in which all parts of the government of Thailand are selected. Which include the House of Representatives of Thailand, the National Assembly of Thailand, the provincial governments, the Bangkok Governorship and regional conferences (which combines with the appointed Thailand Senate). After 1933, Thailand has held 28 general elections, the latest in 2019. Voting is mandatory in Thailand. All elections in Thailand are governed by the Election Commission of Thailand.
For all the local governments, the electoral term is four years. If a councillor position becomes vacant, a by-election is held in the corresponding constituency, if a mayor position becomes vacant, a new election for a four-year term is held.
