On July 20th Pol. Lt. Yodpan Rattanacharoenkhun, an investigating officer at the Sattahip police station in Pattaya was notified that a fight had broken out between a foreign couple at the Navy House Village and one had sustained substantial injuries. Police and the Sawang Rojjana Thammasartharn rescue team immediately rushed to the scene.

Steven DavidOn arrival they found blood stains on the floor. Ms. Lot aged 22 from the Philippines had been stabbed in the leg by Mr. Steven David, 46, from the UK who was arrested and taken to Sattahip Police Station for questioning.

He told officers that had had been drinking with his wife and friends when he noticed that his wife was staring at another man in a suggestive way and this made him feel very angry and jealous so he picked up a knife and threatened his friend. When his wife tried to protect the man Mr. David became further enraged and started fighting. He said while they were fighting his wife crashed into a mirror causing her to be injured, at which point Mr. David called the police. However, this explanation did not seem plausible to the arresting officer who will continue to investigate the case and interview Mr. David’s wife.
