English Thai actress walks out of compensation claims for killing a policeman

British Thai actress Hanna Hambawaris, better known as Ann Reese has refused to pay five million baht in compensation to the family of the police officer she killed on June 26th after she slammed her Mercedes into the back end of his car.
Two months after tearfully telling the public that she was more than happy to help the family in any way she could the actress walked out a negotiation meeting where she was asked to pay 6.2 million, 1.2 million of which would be covered by her insurance company. Anna suggested that 2 million baht would be a more reasonable sum during the four hour meeting at the Prawet Police Station. The family of the officer who lost his life do not agree with her. The figure of 6.2 million was calculated taking the police officers earnings into consideration and the costs involved with supporting his two young children and his parents.
A further meeting to attempt to resolve the dispute will take place on August 22nd.
