Fire at a Recycle Shop in Samui

On July 11 after 191 Police Radio was informed of a fire at “Boon Num Chai Recycle” in Samui, three fire trucks were sent to extinguish a large blaze. After their arrival at the scene it took around forty minutes for fire fighters to get the blaze under control. However by the time the fire was completely extinguish recycle shop had been damaged beyond repair.
Ms. Pramuan Kongsuna, a 50 year-old worker at the recycle shop owned by Mrs. Rawai Prapasri, was questioned by the police. She told the officers that the fire started in her room, one of the worker residences located next the storehouse. When the fire started, Ms. Pramuan and other workers were working in the shop, she heard someone scream about a fire at the worker residence and rushed to the scene only to find that the fire was spreading very quickly. She lost all of her belongings in the blaze that had taken hold of her room by the time she arrived.
Prior to this incident, twice someone had tried to break into the shop and the worker residence, however on both occasions the person fled after being spotted by workers onsite. The workers are of the opinion that the person who started the fire is the same person who started the blaze. However, the police will have scientific officers investigate the scene to find the cause of the fire and who, if anybody, may have started it.
