On the un-spoilt beach of Bang Por is a lovely chill- out café/bar called Footprints. Footprints was opened a few years ago by David, Janet and business partner Leonora, recently the Pie Man George has joined them and is enjoying running the bar and restaurant. George firmly believes in offering good service and high quality at an affordable price and that is exactly what he is dong
Footprints has six comfortable bungalows, three of which have uninterrupted ocean views and all of which have hot showers, free wifi and air conditioning.
The beautiful beach front bar at Footprints is stocked with spirits, beers, wines and cocktails as well as soft drinks and smoothies.
Footprints has an excellent menu with delicious and affordable dishes all of which are homemade. The restaurant opens at 8am and is a great place to tuck into full English breakfast that comes in a range of sizes. The breakfast menu also features Muesli and Yogurt, boiled eggs and soldiers or just simple toast and jam.
Traditional pub mains include bangers and mash, beer battered fish and chips, pie and mash, liver and bacon, cottage pie, burger and chips, stuffed chicken, lasagna, calzone, sea perch and a mixed grill. On Sundays the pie man serves up his famous Sunday Roast diners, booking for that one is essential.
The restaurant has dining seating as well as comfortable sofas. There are some beautiful water features, a very nice pool table and large screen TV’s that will play your favorite sports in the bar area. In the evenings Footprints turns into a chic place to enjoy cold drinks and cocktails as you watch the sun go down. As dark descends the subdued mood lighting adds to the beach front atmosphere as the waves lap gently onto the shore. On Tuesdays it is all fun and frivolity when George hosts the pub quiz. The quiz starts at 7-45p and is only fifty baht per person, the wining team of four take all. You really don’t need to be Einstein to play this quiz and George hums the music round. Food specials appear on quiz night too, so there is even more reason to go and join in the fun.
Saturdays are another great day to visit Footprints for Sangria Saturday’s! glasses and jugs of Sangria come out as does a great DJ who plays chill out tunes in the afternoon that progress to deep house music as night falls. The bonfire on the beach adds even more magic to the venue and margaritas and mojitos are also on special and if you have a few too many, then you can always take advantage of a half price bungalow for the night.
As well as running the bar and restaurant at Footprints Pie Man George makes fabulous pies that you can by as singles or in bulk. Choose from mince beef and potato, steak and kidney, steak and ale, chicken and mushroom, chicken bacon leek, chicken balti, cheesy vegetable, vegetable curry or the roast dinner pie that has sausage meet stuffing chicken, potato and carrots and when combined with lashings of gravy is utterly delicious! When you buy ten or more pies George will deliver and if you buy more than twenty you will enjoy a twenty percent discount. You can order your pies fresh, hot or frozen.
