Former forensic institute director Porntip’s house broken into

A thief broke into the house of Khunying Porntip Rojanasunan, the former director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science, on Monday and made off with ornaments and cash worth Bt250,000, police said.
Pol Capt Akkarawat Ruangkulsrikasem, deputy inspector of Bang Chan police station, said Porntip filed a complaint at 8pm that her house on Soi Ramkhamhaeng 112 in Bangkok’s Saphan Sung district was burglarised.
Akkarawat said the thief entered the house by climbing over the back fence and unlocking the sliding glass door at the back of the house and stole B100,000 in cash and gold and platinum ornaments worth Bt150,000.
Porntip told police that she left the house at 1pm and left her small dog in the house compound. She returned at 8pm to find that her home had been broken into.
A CCTV camera in her house was out of order.
Police have yet to check a CCTV camera of a neighbour and security cameras at the front and back of her soi.
