Former police spokesman resigns

Former Royal Thai Police spokesman Pol Gen Prawut Thavornsiri has tendered his resignation from police service, one year ahead of his official retirement end of September next year.
He tendered his resignation letter to the Royal Thai Police commissioner on October 29.
Royal Thai Police commissioner Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda confirmed Pol Gen Prawut’s resignation saying he has signed approval of the resignation.
The resignation was forwarded to the Cabinet for acknowledgement and for royal command, he said.
Pol Gen Prawut’s latest position was senior consultant to the Royal Thai Police, after his position as spokesman was taken over by the new spokesman.
Pol Gen Chakthip did not elaborate the reason behind the resignation.
He is 59 and still have one more year before retiring September 30 next year.
