Former right hand man to army bigwig arrested for vicious murder of karaoke woman

A vicious murderer with links to the infamous tearing down of bars in Sukhumvit Road has been arrested in north east Thailand.
The jealous man had left a “sorry” note on his girlfriend’s body after battering and strangling her to death.
Surachai “Rang” Thewarat, 34, was arrested on a Nakorn Ratchasima court issued murder warrant hiding at a shack in Phusing district of Sisaket yesterday evening.
Crime Suppression Division officers later handed him over to Jor Hor police.
On Thursday 22nd November Rang had hit his girlfriend Waewdao Phuwong, 23 with a gas canister. In a jealous rage he had then strangled her to death with the canister’s rubber pipe.
He then left a note on the corpse explaining he was sorry about that.
Rang has admitted the crime. He said while he was on the run from other warrants he had met Waewdao at a karaoke lounge and they had become lovers for six months.
But she had other men interested in her and was trying to end the relationship so he murdered her.
Daily News said that Rang was a vicious criminal who attacked people frequently, and stole money from women he met online.
They said that he was the former right hand man of Khatiya Sawatdiphon or Seth. Daeng an influential soldier.
Thaivisa notes that Seth. Daeng was alleged to be involved in the infamous tearing down of a bar area known as Sukhumvit Square in Sukhumvit Road Soi 10 in January 2003.
The area later became a disputed garden set up by owner of the area and former mafia figure turned politician turned TV star Chuvit Kamonvisit.
Chuvit admitted in 2004 that he ordered the dismantling of 120 bars to make way for the park.
