Forty five tourists were saved after a tourist boat started sinking off the coast of Chumporn in southern Thailand yesterday.

tourists_saved_from_boat_disater-thailandAuthorities think that a large wave was responsible but an immediate investigation has been called.

Luckily for the tourists, who were mostly Thai, the boat started sinking just 2 kilometers offshore near the island of Koh Phra.

A fishing boat came to the rescue and managed to ferry all the people to the shore at Chumporn.

The vessel concerned was the 21 ton Raja Chumporn that developed a large hole under the waterline.
