Four more police transferred as fallout from Koh Phangan drug parties continues

The chief of the regional police has ordered the transfer of four more Koh Phangan policemen as investigations continue into allegations that police including the chief on the island were involved in organising drugs parties.
Two bars in Hat Rin have been ordered shut as of last week in the case in which station chief Pol Colonel Somchai Noppasri and deputy Surakit Khlaiudom have already been transferred to inactive posts as they are under investigation.
Their removal relates to a party held at the beach on October 6th 2017.
Yesterday Region 8 chief Maj Gen Sorasak Yenprom ordered four more Koh Phangan officers – three with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel – to be transferred to HQ pending the ongoing inquiry.
A top level meeting has been convened this morning at 9am, reported Thai Rath.
Many drugs were found at the venues on October 8th in military raids.
