Friends of woman killed at rail station hold ceremony to send her spirit ‘home’

Yesterday, friends and family of the Thai woman killed at the Airport Rail Link station had a religious ceremony to invite her spirit to leave the station and go to a better a place.
Rodsarin “Ae” Plianla, 31, who was six months pregnant, died on Monday after she fell onto the tracks at Ban Thap Chang station and was run over by an oncoming train.
She was expecting a baby boy with her husband.
It is still unknown if the deceased woman fell onto the tracks intentionally, as some news sources reported, or if she met her end after fainting, as one of her friends said.
While everybody in such a situation grieves differently, friends of Rodsarin’s from Chandrakasem Rajabhat University, her alma mater, gathered at the station and invited a monk to perform a religious ritual to invite her spirit to a better place.
Rodasarin’s friend, who goes by Sodazaa Make Up Palawong on Facebook, posted a picture of the ceremony. It was captioned:
“Ae and your son, please come home. I’m sorry I didn’t get to send you away. RIP my friend. We love you. Thank you friends from the accounting faculty who were here to send Ae and and her son home. She is at peace now, and we have to keep moving forward.”
