“Ganja doctors” start training later this month

The deputy chief of a public health group advocating traditional and alternative medicine will begin training doctors in treatment and dispensing of medical marijuana drugs later this month.

Dr Sanphong Ritthiraksa of the Department for development of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine said he hopes that 2,000 doctors and home help physicians will be trained in 12 regions nationwide.
Each area will have training seminars for between 150 and 200 people.
The training follows the legalization of cannabis for medical use in Thailand around the turn of the year.
