A search party was sent out to look for two German tourists feared lost and in trouble at a park in Prachuap Khiri Khan south of Hua Hin, reports Thaivisa News.

german man foundDespite warnings that it was unsafe to go up the peak without park rangers the two tourists and ridden a bicycle to the foot of the mountain and set off.

Fishermen had alerted park officers that the tourists, a married couple, might be in trouble especially as it was getting dark on Saturday evening and feared they might be stuck.

A search and rescue party was organised but the tourists were found safe on a mountain path.

Park officials have warned tourists and resort owners in the area of the Khao Ta Mong Lai park that it is dangerous to attempt the climb without a ranger who knows the route.

It can be especially hard to find the way back when it gets dark, they said.
