Half a million people expected to take part in the Bike for Dad event tomorrow

Tomorrow, over half a million cyclists will take part in the “Bike for Dad” celebration of the 88th birthday of His Majesty the King. The event will take place across Thailand and 66 other cities around the world.
607,909 participants have registered for the event, 99,999 in Bangkok, 498,105 upcountry and 9,805 overseas. The events website has drawn 3.9 million views.
HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkron, who initiated the event to pay tribute to his Father will lead the group covering the 29 kilometer Bangkok rout. The police force have said they are ready to ensure the security of all of those involved both participants and spectators.
103 schools along the capitals rout will close for the day. Many companies have given their employees the day off so theyc an either ride in the procession or support from the sidelines.
