Heartbreak for British family who may not be able to bring sisters body home from Thailand

A British tourist has died in Thailand after being stranded in a hospital for two months while her family struggled to find the funds to pay for her medical bills.
Kathryn Williamson, 51, from North Shields, was on holiday in the country when she collapsed. Her Tyneside family launched a crowdfunding page to try to bring her home and cover her rising medical bills. Sadly her life could not be saved and after two months on life support, last week she died.
With medics in Thailand holding her body until the £36,000 medical bills are paid, her heartbroken family now have to face the fact they may not be able to bring her body home.
The crowd funding page is still open – click here
