Heavy rain expected

At 4am today (15th August) The Thai Meteorological department issued a warning about Tropical Cyclone UTOR that has been downgraded to a tropical storm that is over the west of Guangdong in China. The storm is moving slowly northwest where it is excpted to downgrade further to a tropical depression. However a strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand that will bring abundant rain and isolated heavy rain on both the East and South West Coast. People in Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong and Phang-nga should be aware of heavy rain. The wind will cause waves in the Andaman sea and the gulf of up to 3 meters. All ships should proceed with caution.
