Hua Hin: Cambodian “monks” arrested after taking donations in tourist areas

TNA MCOT reported that the acting head of Thai immigration Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang had announced the arrest of three Cambodian monks in Hua Hin.

The monks had no passports and had illegally entered Thailand to get alms in tourist areas of the country.
Their arrest followed complaints from Thais at the resort that there were foreigners seeking donations since the beginning of July at Hua Hin beach and local markets.
The men in robes are now all in custody awaiting prosecution.
