The Hua Hin District is one of the eight districts of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in the northern part of the Malaya Peninsula in Thailand. Its seat of government, also named Hua Hin, is a beach resort area. It’s 199 km south-southwest of Bangkok by road. The Hua Hin District is in the center of what the Thai government is pushing as the “Thai Riviera,” the coastline between Phetchaburi in the north and Chumphon in the south.
Once a quiet fishing village, after the 1920s, when the Thai royal family constructed their summer palaces, it became a trendy escape for residents of Bangkok and foreigners. Hua Hin Beach is popular for kitesurfing and other water sports.
