Immigration officers arrest wanted Russian man in Phuket

Phuket Immigration officers yesterday arrested a Russian man who is wanted on an arrest warrant issued in Russia for organised crime.
A team of Phuket Immigration officers led by Capt Pawarit Panajinaporn and Capt Chitsanu Jutichai arrested Sergei Poramonov, 36, at a house in Phanason Villa Borae, Wichit at 3:15pm yesterday (Mar 14).
Poramonov was taken to the Phuket Immigration Office.
The arrest of Poramonov came after Royal Thai Police Immigration Bureau officers were notified by Russia to search for a suspect who was to believed to have taken refuge in Thailand after an arrest warrant was issued for him by the Russian courts for his involvement in organised crime.
Immigration Bureau Deputy Commander Maj Gen Ittipol Ittisarnronnachai ordered Phuket Immigration officers to quickly search for him
