Insurance payout for families of Chiang Mai bus crash victims

The families of the victims of the Chiang Mai bus crash will be receiving compensation amounting to RM100,000 per person according to Chiu Travel Agency manager Terence Yung. The crash that occurred when a bus crashed into another vehicle before hitting a power pole claimed the lives of four out of six members of the same family, the oldest of whom was 85. Low Cee Lan was enjoying a vacation in Chiang Mai with her second son Tan Yang Soon, 64. Yang Soon survived the accident but his 39 year old daughter lost her life, as well as his sister Sui Heng and her husband Ker Boon Kwang, 57, their daughter Ker Shin Hui, 28 escaped with injuries. Yang Soon’s brother in law Lim Poh Toet said “we are all in shock, my sister (Yang Soon’s wife) is especially emotional. Her two sons are due to arrive in Thailand tonight, so we are waiting for updates from them”. As well as those who lost their lives ten more are badly injured and one is still in a coma.
