Interior Ministry stresses solutions to southern flooding

The Ministry of Interior executives admitted to being concerned of the floods in the south, assuring that the Ministry’s agencies have flood counter measures in place.
Minister of Interior Gen Anupong Paojinda has said regarding the flooding disaster in many provinces of the southern region, that the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation is now handling the issue, with the Ministry’s Permanent-Secretary responsible for giving instructions.
The Interior Minister has said that the various agencies will need to integrate their work to provide timely assistance to the affected public, while executive officials will meet directly with the flood affected public.
The Ministry will try to any further damages from the disaster, the Interior Minister has said, adding he is not planning to visit the affected area during this time as he wishes not to burden the working officials any more, insisting that he will meet with the affected public at a later date instead.
