Investigation launched after Helston man found dead in Thailand

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office has confirmed the death of a Helston man in Thailand.
Liam Whitaker a former Helston Community College student, died earlier this month while traveling the country.
A spokesman for the FCO |confirmed to the Packet: “We were informed of the death of a British national, Liam Whitaker, on October 15 in Thailand. We are providing assistance to the family at this difficult time.”
It is understood that an official investigation has been launched into the circumstances |surrounding the death, involving the police and the Home Office.
Liam’s family, from Grylls Parc, said they were unable to comment at this time.
Liam is listed on his Facebook page as aged 24 and a former student of the University of Glamorgan, where he studied for a BSc in physical geography.
