Investigation underway into pilot who told passengers his life was more important than theirs

On Tuesday Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced that they will be making an investigation into one of their pilots who told a passenger on a Bangkok to Manila flight that his life was more important than theirs.
The incident, that occurred on February 21st, came about when fight PR 731 due to take off from Bangkok at 1.50pm, was taxing on the runway was forced to return to the airport due to an unspecified technical issue. The Airbus then stayed on the tarmac for over five hours leaving passengers gasping for air as it overheated. After many complains the pilot announced over the PA system that his cockpit was hotter than the planes rear section in an apparent attempt to dismiss the complaints went on to say that he had previously been stranded for ten hours in Mubai India. When some of the passengers demanded to get off the plane the pilot spoke to them in person informing them that his life was more important than theirs as can be witnessed in this video.
