Irish man arrested for selling marijuana to police in Chiang Mai

In Chiang Mai the luck of the Irish ran out for 23 year old Kieran Barry when he was arrested for selling Marijuana to the police. The Irishman was arrested on Monday night after he attempted to sell 1kg of ganga to officers from the Crime Suppression Division. According to the police the man was arrested outside the Chiang Mai Night Plaza Boutique Hotel, he was trying to charge 200,000 baht for the drugs, it is unclear whether or not he was stoned at the time.
Following his arrest the man confessed to buying the weed Chiang Mai, taking orders online and posting it to buyers around the country. He was charged with various drug offenses and remanded in custody.
Meanwhile German National Thomas Leiner, 53, was arrested and accused of selling drugs in the Mae Rim district. During a raid on his home police discovered 78 speed pills and two packs of amphetamines. The arrest came about after police caught Theeradet Chaichana, 25, at an apartment in the Muang district on Thursday afternoon. The man, who confessed to possessing the drugs told the police he had purchased them from the German. The German man told the police that he brought the drugs from a drug dealer on the Loy Khor Road in downtown Chiang Mai and that they were for his own use and sale to mostly foreigners, he went on to say that he had sold drugs for a long time, he was also held in police custody.
