It’s a record! Patient found with 1,898 gallstones in Thai hospital

Doctors at the Tha Bo Crown Prince Hospital in Nong Khai confirmed that they had removed 1,898 gallstones from a patient.

They said the removal of gallstones was a standard procedure but they had never encountered such a number as this and it was a record.
The patient lost their gall bladder in the procedure. They had come into the hospital complaining of stomach pains, tightness and constipation.
Gallstones can be caused by excess cholesterol in the system.
Doctors warned people to get check-ups.
Online checks show that world records for gallstones are likely in excess of 10,000 stones, notes Thaivisa.
