Three Krungthai Bank employees were arrested yesterday suspected of the embezzlement of over Bt19 million from the Khon Kaen branch of the Krungthai bank last week.

Thawatchai Samranbamrung, Sompote Singsom and Surasak Prasertsank were all questioned by police in regards to the crime before Sompote Singsom was deemed soley responsible.

The complaint was filed by KTB General services after the three employees were found to be absent from their jobs between the 27th and 31st of July. During that period Bt19 million destined for 17 ATM’s in the municipality went missing.

According to the commander of Khon Kaen provincial police, Maj-General Jitjaroon Srivanit, Sompote confessed to stealing the money on July 29 before fleeing to Laos. He was apprehended on Saturday. Police seized Bt1.4 million in cash, five gold necklaces and over 40 currency straps from Sompote, who is slated to re-enact the crime today.
