KTB Bank customers furious as KBank goes offline for more than 5 hours

Yesterday KBank customers were up in arms when the Krungthai Bank went offline for five hours.
The state-owned KTB’s ATM machines as well as the internet banking system was said to have problems yesterday morning and were shut down at around 10am. Privately run KBank’s K-Cyber internet banking system and its mobile application is also said to have shut down at around the same time.
During the shutdown customers were unable to withdraw or transfer funds, some said their cards were eaten by the ATM or the money did not come out which caused chaos on a day that for many was payday.
The system was restored to working order at around 3.20pm.
The two banks issued statements apologizing to their customers for the inconvenience but no mention was made as to what had caused the problem.
